Atlanta, GA – Tea Party Patriots President and Co-Founder, Jenny Beth Martin, in response to Governor Chris Christie’s stepped-up attacks today on Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey over his proposal to take insurance premiums from Horizon for a new government program.

“It’s unconscionable that Governor Christie continues to use taxpayer time and resources to try to extort money from a private company to fund his pet projects. When manipulation of the free market occurs, which Christie is attempting to do, consumers always end up footing the bill. In this case, it will be millions of New Jerseyans who rely on these critical funds for their healthcare needs. The governor needs to stop fleecing taxpayers and patients and shaking down private companies to cover up for his years of failed leadership and fiscal recklessness.”
