Atlanta, GA – This week, the Senate Judiciary Committee will vote to confirm FBI Director nominee Kash Patel. Tea Party Patriots Action Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin issued the following statement:

“The FBI is in dire need of massive reform. Consequently, we at Tea Party Patriots Action urge every senator on the Judiciary Committee to support Kash Patel for FBI Director.

“For more than a decade, the FBI has wrongly been going after law-abiding Americans for partisan purposes — for instance, the FBI has gone after Catholics, parents who attend school board meetings, and pro-life protesters who peacefully demonstrate outside abortion clinics, among many other Americans. That’s wrong, and it must stop.

“We know a thing or two about being on the receiving end of such government abuse — Tea Party Patriots itself was a victim of the weaponization of government, during the Obama administration’s infamous IRS targeting scandal.

“The FBI is in desperate need of reform, and Kash Patel will deliver that reform. As a former chief investigator for the House Intelligence Committee, Patel exposed the FBI’s abuse of power under the Biden administration. He has vowed to combat the corruption that’s eroded public trust in the bureau. He has the drive and determination to change the FBI into what it needs to be – a politically-neutral law enforcement agency, protecting every American from threats domestic and foreign.

“Kash Patel is an outstanding nominee for FBI Director, and he deserves the support of every senator.”
