Atlanta, GA – Today, Tea Party Patriots Action released a post-election survey it commissioned McLaughlin & Associates to conduct. The survey shows strong support for DOGE and government employee efficiency. Tea Party Patriots Action Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin issued the following statement:

“The poll that Tea Party Patriots Action commissioned shows that 70.7% of Americans support DOGE and 65.4% of Americans support firing government employees who do not return to their office post-pandemic.

“DOGE’s existence is supported by 78.6% of Republicans, 64.0% of Democrats, and 68.0% of Independents. So DOGE’s existence has broad, bipartisan support.

“When it comes to the federal workforce, only 50% of government employes have returned to the office post-pandemic. Getting these employees back to the office where they belong is important for government efficiency, as Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy point out in their recent Wall Street Journal op-ed. According to our poll, 75.6% of Republicans, 54.6% of Democrats, and 64.6% of Independents agree with Elon and Vivek. So reforming the federal workforce has strong, bipartisan support, as well.

“As an organization founded on the principles of smaller government and reining in government spending, we support Elon and Vivek as they begin their important work making the government smaller, less costly, and more efficient.”

The post-election survey was conducted on November 7. The full question wordings and results are below.

“We are now more than four years from the height of the Covid pandemic, and America’s largest companies, including Apple, Google, and Starbucks, have insisted that employees return to the office to work. Small companies like local gas stations and restaurants also have employees working in person. 2.87 million civilians work in the federal government, yet 50% of those employees have yet to return to the office. These federal employees decide how tax dollars are spent and how government programs are implemented, and they are supposed to ensure those programs run efficiently. Yet, with no in-person office presence, the employees lack accountability. Do you support or oppose a proposal to force government employees back to their offices or fire them if they refuse to do so?” The results were 65.4% support (36.7% strongly, 28.7% somewhat) and 23.9% oppose (12.0% strongly, 11.9% somewhat).

“Do you support or oppose a Department of Government Efficiency whose sole purpose is to audit the government for inefficiencies and to instruct Congress on adjusting the federal budget to reduce costs and eliminate redundancy, unnecessary programs, and unnecessary services?” The results were 70.7% support (39.9% strongly, 30.8% somewhat) and 15.9% oppose (6.0% strongly, 9.9% somewhat).
