Atlanta, GA – On Thursday, the U.S. Senate confirmed Harmeet Dhillon to serve as Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights in the Justice Department. Tea Party Patriots Action Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin issued the following statement:

“We at Tea Party Patriots Action are excited for Harmeet Dhillon’s confirmation. As a senior appointee in the Justice Department, she will assume control of election integrity enforcement and other important legal issues. Election integrity is one of the most important issues facing our country and it’s at the heart of Tea Party Patriots Action’s mission. Ahead of the last two election cycles, we recruited and trained 35,000 poll watchers and poll workers. The President has already taken bold action, signing an executive order requiring government-issued proof of citizenship on its voter registration forms. Now we need Congress to codify the President’s executive order through the SAVE Act.

“Harmeet Dhillon will do an outstanding job protecting Americans’ voting rights. We thank President Trump for appointing her and we thank the Senators who voted to confirm her.”
