Lindsey Clancy Trial: When Justifying Abortion Becomes Justifying Her | Fr. Frank Pavone
The Lindsey Clancy trial has a lot of people asking why so many women are making excuses for a mother who took the lives of her three children. Father Frank Pavone, founder of Priests for Life and its election arm Pro-Life Vote, tells Jenny Beth Martin the answer has been building for fifty years: a country that keeps justifying the taking of life in the womb will find itself justifying it outside the womb too. He runs the largest post-abortion healing ministry in the world, and he says the psychology is familiar: instead of facing guilt and shame, people justify what others do and find someone else to blame. From there the conversation widens. Jenny Beth Martin, a mother of twins, explains why postpartum reality is real and why it can never become an excuse. Father Pavone connects the refusal to name late-term abortion to the refusal to name a riot, an invasion or terrorism, and reads the Declaration of Independence at 250 as a litany of named evils. The two of them stand with Pink, a pro-choice artist who called out antisemitism during the Ed Sheeran tour and was left standing alone, and Father Pavone gives two reasons Christians must stand with Israel.
