ATLANTA, Ga. – Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund (TPPCF) Chairman Jenny Beth Martin released the following statement today congratulating Byron Donalds on his victory in the Florida-19 Congressional race. 

“On behalf of our millions of members and supporters, Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund congratulates Byron Donalds on his victory in the Florida-19 Congressional race. 

“Byron Donalds has proven himself a champion of empowering parents and broadening educational opportunity for children of all backgrounds. Even before he entered public service, he made it clear he wanted to make sure all children were given the same opportunities his mother made available to him. 

“Even before he entered the state legislature, he and his wife helped establish a charter school in his community. He only stepped away from the school when he entered the legislature. 

“He maintained his focus on education as a member of the Florida legislature and maintains it today as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. 

“Byron has been a strong opponent of teaching Critical Race Theory (CRT) in our elementary and secondary schools. When the Florida state legislature passed, and the governor signed into law, new legislation to prevent the teaching of CRT, Byron made a point of holding a press conference at a local school to call attention to the issue and let school administrators know that he would be monitoring them and working with parents to ensure their children were not taught inappropriately. 

“In addition, he’s been champion for school choice. Says Byron, ‘School Choice Week is about celebrating children, empowering parents, and educational freedom. No child is the same, and each of them learns differently – which is why educational options are vital for every child to succeed and have access to a world-class education.’ 

“He is a strong supporter of securing our southern border and is fighting to reduce illegal immigration. He knows that as long as the border is not secure, the drug cartels will continue to run their human trafficking and drug importation networks, destroying lives on both sides of the border. 

“He opposes President Biden’s plan to have federal taxpayers pay off tens of millions of student loans. He knows the Constitution does not give the president the legal authority to just give away taxpayer dollars like that. And he knows it’s just wrong – says Byron, ‘A family making less than $70,000 a year should NOT have to pay for the college debt for a family making over $200,000. This seems like common sense to me.’
