Rep. Mark Meadows: ‘Every tax, every mandate, every regulation of #Obamacare needs to go’
House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) says nothing short of a full repeal of former President Obama’s signature health-insurance law is acceptable, rallying around similar statements made by colleagues in the Senate.
“I support my friends @RandPaul, @SenMikeLee, and @tedcruz. Every tax, every mandate, every regulation of #Obamacare needs to go,” Rep. Meadows tweeted Monday night.
Rep. Meadows has been an outspoken opponent of Obamacare, asking members of Congress to – at the very least – take to the floor repeal legislation President Obama vetoed in 2016.
“Health care will be better and more affordable once Obamacare is repealed,” Rep. Meadows says in a Feb. 2 statement co-released with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio).
“Therefore we strongly encourage Republican leadership on Capitol Hill to take up the Affordable Care Act repeal bill that already passed the House, the Senate, and went to President Obama’s desk in early 2016. There’s no reason we should put anything less on President Trump’s desk than we put on President Obama’s now that we know it will be signed into law.
