Atlanta, GA – On Thursday night, Tea Party Patriots Action (TPPA) released an eighty-eight-minute video tutorial educating parents about the National School Board Association (NSBA) and urging parents to shut it down.  The NSBA is embroiled in multiple controversies, including mask mandates in schools and the teaching of Critical Race Theory (CRT). The NSBA collaborated with the Biden White House before sending a letter urging the FBI to investigate parents as potential domestic terrorists. In June, TPP released a 46-page toolkit for parents and students fighting CRT. This week’s video, titled “Teaching Accountability: How the NSBA Works and How to Shut It Down,” can be watched here. TPPA Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin issued the following statement: “The NSBA has proven beyond any doubt that they do not have the best interests of parents and students in mind. When the NSBA coordinated with the Biden White House on a letter calling parents potential domestic terrorists, that was a betrayal they cannot come back from.  Tea Party Patriots Action has been warning parents about the NSBA for a long time. This summer, we released a 46-page toolkit educating parents on how to fight NSBA-backed Critical Race Theory indoctrination. We’ve been a longstanding and vocal opponent of NSBA-backed mask mandates in schools, including organizing 350 protests nationwide against mask and vaccine mandates. Parents have the power to shut down the NSBA, and they should – using the information in our video tutorial, ‘Teaching Accountability.’ State associations are made up of local school boards. Local and state associations can drop out of the NSBA.  As more associations drop out, NSBA funding will dry up and they will learn the hard way that putting left-wing ideology over parents was a catastrophic mistake. That’s virtually every bank account in the country. This is a contemptible invasion of privacy that would affect almost every single American who has a bank account. The IRS has politically persecuted conservative organizations, including ours. Any plan to give that organization even more power to threaten and intimidate Americans must be resoundingly rejected, defeated, and never proposed again."

Atlanta, GA – On Thursday night, the Texas House passed SB1, landmark legislation to strengthen election integrity in the Lone Star state.  The Texas Senate passed the bill earlier this month. In response, Tea Party Patriots Action Honorary Chairman Jenny Beth Martin issued the following statement: “The vast majority of Texans, like the vast majority of Americans, want voting laws that make it easy to vote and hard to cheat, so we thank the Texas legislators who voted for this landmark bill. We are excited that Governor Abbott will sign the bill into law. The legislators who voted for SB1 deserve credit for resisting a nationally-coordinated left-wing pressure campaign, which included a publicity stunt in which scores of their colleagues fled the state for weeks. Texas will soon join other states such as Georgia, Florida, and Arizona, which also recently strengthened their voting laws. As we move forward in other states and at the national level, we will continue to work for legislation to ensure that our elections are free, and fair, and secure.”

It would require that federal bureaucrats preapprove changes to virtually anything that could impact elections, from redistricting down to the placement of stop lights. It would create a system in which virtually every election district in the nation would be subject to orders from Washington. Worse, it is premised on fixing a ‘problem’ that no longer exists — it was fixed long ago. Any right-thinking person who understands the Constitution’s instructions that elections are a matter to be administered by state and local governments should be offended by this proposed legislation, as we are.
