Trump Supporter Roughed Up At Bernie Sanders Rally
During a Bernie Sanders rally at Virginia Wesleyan University, an overzealous campus security guard got caught on video tackling a Trump supporter who was waving a “Trump 2020” flag. VWU claims that the Trump supporter, identified as Markus Gohring, was “a disruptive attendee.”
College Fix reports:
The guard who (allegedly) ultimately tackled Gohring tells him “Leave! I’m not gonna tell you again,” “You are not following my instructions,” and “Nobody gotta tell me to tell you to leave.” The guard adds “You’re on my property. This is private property. (VWU is a private college; however, the Sanders event was advertised as “free and open to the public.”)
Shortly after these exchanges, Gohring begins walking away. However, the security guard follows him, and as a closer video shows, the guard then gets physical:
This is how security guards at @vawesleyan University treat Trump supporters peacefully walking through campus.
No reason for the guard to use this level of aggression and force.
This was pure political bias and rage. pic.twitter.com/sQ8FFNAz9Y

Campus Reform reports the Trump supporter, Markus Gohring, was present (with flag) at a campus Bernie Sanders rally when VWU security guards approached and informed him that he’d have to leave.
“I saw he was pulling a weapon and that’s when I ran,” Gohring said, referencing the guard pulling out his baton. “I saw that getting up, and that’s when I actually ran for my life,” Gohring told his attorney, Tim Anderson, in a video posted to Facebook.
“He’s walking behind you and he kind of puts his hand on your back and is like, ‘hurry up, hurry up,’ right? You kind of flip around and say ‘don’t touch me,’ right? And that’s when you got taken to the ground,” Anderson says to Gohring in the video.
Full video of the fracas appears to back up Gohring’s contention that the guard aggravated the situation as Gohring was leaving the venue.
This seems like an openly biased excessive use of force by a security officer. What do you think, was this incident politically motivated?
