Rep. Pompeo’s time in office, including his service on the Energy and Commerce and House Intelligence committees, has been marked by strong opposition to President Obama’s Iran nuclear deal as well as, according to his bio, investigation into State Department operations that left U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens and three other Americans dead.
“I look forward to rolling back this disastrous deal with the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism,” Rep. Pompeo tweeted Thursday before accepting the president-elect’s offer to take the helm at the CIA.
