Let Freedom Ring: From Reagan to Trump
The Jenny Beth Show | March 26, 2025
“The Reagan administration was considered a revolution. It was called the Reagan Revolution and the people who disliked it the most were Republicans of the old establishment. In fact, I would say ground zero of anti-Reagan sentiment was the Republican National Committee at that time,” says the Honorable T. Kenneth Cribb, Jr., president of the Intercollegiate Studies Institute and treasurer for the Young Americans Foundation, which owns the Reagan Ranch. Among other notable accomplishments, he served President Ronald Reagan throughout his entire presidency.
Ken Cribb joins The Jenny Beth Show for an illuminating discussion about Reagan’s years in office, exploring how deep-state resistance and public sentiment echo the dynamics of Donald Trump’s presidency.
The Reagan Presidency was “very much a takeover,” Ken says. “He wanted to enlarge the scope of human freedom” during his tenure—a bold stance that rattled the establishment, especially Republicans of the era. “He wanted to reduce the influence of the federal government in our daily lives so that freedom became much more real for the average citizen.”
In this enduring conversation, Ken unveils the hurdles the Reagan administration navigated and the visionary approach Reagan brought to the Cold War and other policies once deemed impossible by the American public.
